סוארס נשך את ג'יורג'יו קייליני כאשר שניהם ניסו להגיע לכדור – או שסוארס בעצם ניסה להגיע לכתף של האיטלקי.
בתחילה היה נראה שסוארס נגח בקייליני, אבל האיטלקי חשף את הכתף והראה את סימני השיניים של האורוגוואי הנשכן.
